The Night

Night at camp is both a beautiful and terrifying experience. Some of my favorite memories have come from sleepless nights in the Canyon, and now I actually have the time to capture a few of them:

“When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.”
-William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon,
and the anger of a gentle man.”
-Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear

Sometimes we like to do crazy things out here like light a bonfire with a flying fireball.
“Summer night--
even the stars
are whispering to each other.”
-Kobayashi Issa

"I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day."- Vincent Van Gogh

"Most glorious night!Thou wert not sent for slumber!"- Lord Byron

"What hath night to do with sleep?"- John Milton, Paradise Lost

"How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before its afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?"
-Dr. Seuss
