So, not many people would take their very first day off and continue to do their job. Luckily for me, I love my job. Really and truly. Since I didn't have any sort of agenda for the afternoon, I decided to stop and take the opportunity to take photos of all of the awesome wildflowers and good, Texas hill country along the way.

Bloons!
Every year, Telluride plays host to the balloon festival. As dawn crests the valley's surrounding peaks, balloon pilots (is that even a term?), photographers, and children alike gather in town park, shivering in the May frost to watch the balloons drift into the atmosphere (because "take off" seems to be too aggressive a term to use in this situation). Wanderings
There's something simply magical about the mountains: the enchanting, fresh way the air surrounding them smells; the way the light is caught and disappears in the crevices; the way the sun seems to hang in the sky a few moments longer at sunset, as if hoping to sustain that one, last glimpse before they're shrouded in darkness. To say that I love the mountains is an understatement. Perhaps one of my (absolute) favorite things about them, however, is that adventure awaits and beckons consistently, persistently. I love to simply wander, following well-beaten paths or creating my own, wherever my feet lead me. Here are a few photos from my wanderings over the past week.
